Human-Inspired AI for Suicide Prediction and Prevention

Join us for a CHIA Seminar with Dr Yaniv Yacoby, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Wellesley College, exploring how machine learning and psychological science can support suicide prediction and prevention.

Yaniv will talk about his lab’s ongoing work on models that combine psychological theories, clinician and patient knowledge, and data collected through smartphone-based assessments. He will explore the challenge of translating qualitative theories into statistical models, with the aim of improving our understanding of suicide risk and supporting more effective prevention and treatment.

When: Friday 6 November 2026, 4–5 pm
Where: Seminar Room C, 17 Mill Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1RX
