CHIA Welcomes Its Second Cohort of MPhil and PhD Students

7 October 2026

CHIA welcomed its second cohort of MPhil and PhD students with an induction day at Newnham College, marking an exciting new chapter for our growing research community.

The day included introductions to CHIA, the MPhil and PhD programmes, and ITH, alongside practical information from the team to help students settle in. Our director Anna shared a personal story, adding a warm and reflective note to the welcome.

Tea and cake in Newnham’s dining hall offered a chance for students and colleagues to get to know one another and share their excitement for the year ahead.

There is plenty to look forward to this Michaelmas term, with CHIA and the Early Career Community planning seminars, social events and opportunities to connect across the research community. From the CHIA Seminar Series to our weekly CHIA Brew, there are many ways to get involved. Explore our Michaelmas term programme to find out more.

A warm welcome to all our new students – we look forward to the ideas and perspectives you will bring to CHIA.
