About

Emily leads the Lines Research Group, in the Department of Geography, which is currently funded by a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. She is also a Turing Fellow, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Ecology.

Research

Emily’s research is predominantly concerned with:

  • Forest structure, function, and human impacts
  • Integrating satellite, drone, ground-based remote sensing, and traditional survey data
  • Applying modern data science techniques to extract insights from ecological data
  • Addressing questions from fundamental ecology to applied conservation
