About

Malak is the Teaching Associate at CHIA at and has a PhD in Design Engineering from Imperial College London. She also has a Master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction from the University of St Andrews, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Digital Media from the American University in Cairo.

Malak has also had several years of experience consulting companies on how to create human-centred AI products, and working with UN Women UK, The Alan Turing Institute, Bold Insight, and AIxDesign.

• Aligning conversational AI with human values
• Designing human-centred AI experiences through participatory approaches
