Napoleon Katsos is Professor of Experimental Pragmatics at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow in Linguistics at Trinity College, Cambridge. He received his PhD in semantics, pragmatics and psycholinguistics from the University of Cambridge. Napoleon’s post-doc was at the University of Oxford under Prof Dorothy Bishop’s mentorship, after which he returned to Cambridge. In 2010 Napoleon co-founded the Cambridge Bilingualism Network, a partnerships between researchers, teachers, clinicians and parents of bilingual children that promotes research-informed practice. Napoleon’s research focuses on understanding the processes of language learning and use, and their relation to cognitive skills and creativity. Napoleon often works with monolingual and bilingual neurotypical and neurodivergent people, using behavioural psycholinguistic techniques complemented by qualitative methods.
