Research
Pietro’s research focuses on:
- Developing AI and computational biology models to understand disease complexity and advance precision medicine
- Designing graph neural network models to integrate multi-scale, multi-omics, and multi-physics data
- Combining deep learning with mechanistic approaches to enhance explainability and interpretability in medicine
- Exploring communication and emergent behaviors across biological systems, from cells to tissues
- Creating AI-based medical digital twins to promote self-awareness and personal decision support systems to enhance social awareness
